Your four original reference shots, the stitched reference grid, your generated photo library, your scene preferences, and your onboarding answers are stored locally on your iPhone. There is no Photogenic account and no cloud copy of your library.
Privacy Policy
Photogenic generates AI photos of you from reference photos you shoot. Your face is the most personal data there is, so this policy is written to be read: what stays on your phone, what a generation sends, and what we never do.
When you develop a photo, the app sends the single stitched reference image, the scene you picked, and your anonymous subscription identifier to our generation service (a Cloudflare Worker), which forwards the reference to OpenAI's image API to render your photo. The reference and the render are used for that request only — we do not retain them on our servers after the response is returned. OpenAI processes the image as our provider; see OpenAI's API data-usage policy for their handling.
No name, no email, no contacts, no precise-location history. If you enable the optional location suggestion feature, your coarse locale is used on-device to pick nearby scene ideas — it is not sent to us. We do not sell or share personal data.
Purchases are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat, which holds an anonymous identifier, your purchase history, and your credit balance so your credits work across reinstalls. RevenueCat's privacy policy governs that processing.
Camera and photo-library access are used only to capture or pick your reference shots and to save finished photos when you ask. Location (optional, while-using) only powers nearby scene suggestions. Deny any of these and the rest of the app keeps working.
Retake or delete your reference at any time in Settings — replacing it overwrites the old one on your device. Deleting the app deletes all locally stored data. Because we don't retain your reference or renders server-side, there is nothing further for us to delete.
Photogenic offers a fixed scene library and no free-form prompts. The product is designed so you can generate photos of yourself — not of other people.
If this policy changes materially we will update this page and the "last updated" date. Questions or requests: support@photogenicapp.org.
